What we treat

We assist adults in recovery from illness, injury or surgery within the home environment when leaving home results in taxing effort or not possible.

Reasons include:

  • Recent hospital or rehabilitation following illness/injury
  • Frequent falls
  • Deconditioning following illness or exacerbation of chronic condition (e.g. CHF, COPD, Covid)
  • Neurological conditions (e.g. CVA, Parkinsons Disease, M.S)
  • Chronic pain/reduced range of motion

Specialty Programs

  • Activities of Daily Living, both personal and domestic – including feeding, bathing, dressing, meal preparation. Compensatory methods and adaptive equipment recommendations/training as indicated.
  • Balance and fall prevention.
  • Positioning and posture education
  • Orthopedic rehabilitation post injury/surgery. Close liaison with Orthopedic specialist for range and strength protocols
  • Cardiopulmonary Rehab. Focus on breathing techniques, posture and energy conservation application for self-care/light domestic tasks.

What a typical visit looks like

  • Evaluation – Following an MD order, we will conduct an initial meeting to establish and review your history, current status, personal and household duties and Goals will be established to address specific return to prior status.
  • Visits conducted to address strength, range, balance training and specific tasks, all guided by skilled OT to facilitate safety and optimal function.
  • Discharge planning with recommendations for home exercise program, recommendations for ongoing return to function.
